THREE WINNERS OF MEN MASS START:

LANDERTINGER WON THE RACE, USTYUGOV TOOK THE SMALL CRYSTAL GLOBE, SVENDSEN – GRAND ONE

The winner of the men Mass Start in the World Cup Final 2009/10 Dominik Landertinger (Austria) who became ahead Arnd Peiffer (Germany) on the final lap. The third place took to Halvard Hanevold ( Norway ) celebrating this way the final race of the World Cup in his career.

The main intrigue of the race was in the duel between Emile Hegle Svendsen ( Norway ) and Christoph Sumann ( Austria ) for the Grand Crystal Globe. Before the start both of them had equal points in World Cup overall. Neither Svendsen nor Sumann were good at this race, but Svendsen who finished before his rival won the prize.

In the course of the race the fight for the small crystal globe has suddenly escalated. Evgeny Ustyugov ( Russia ) who had a big advantage in this nomination started the race not very well, who had after the first shooting three penalty loops. As a result Ustyugov finished only 28 th , but that had not disturbed him to save his leadership position as his competitors in the struggle for victory in the World Cup overall of Mass Start were not on the first lines of the final protocol of the race.

PRESS CONFERENCE of the mass start winners

LANDERTINGER Dominik ( Austria ):

-I did everything well today. My shooting and running was great. It was my first win here. And I am happy with my today's result.

Arnd Peiffer ( Germany ):

- Today's race was exciting. Almost all the time we were running near to each other till the last shooting range. I tried to equally devide my forces on the entire distance to shoot clean. Generally I am satisfied and I think that my coaches are also pleased with the results.

Halvard Hanevold ( Norway ) :

- I am very happy with my last World Cup race in my carrier. I haven't had any problems with shooting today. However the race was taught. After the forth shooting I was the fifth but I finished the third. And I am glad to be on the prize stage with this young guys. 

FLASH INTERVIEW

USTYUGOV Evgeny ( Russia ) : The race was difficult for me. Even on the first lap my fingers froze. In addition before the race the wind was blowing in one direction, but after the start it changed its direction. It happened that at the start the brain became disable and you could not always assess the situation what had happened to me. I just did not take into account the wind direction.

EDER Simon ( Austria ): The track was good, and the race I really liked. I am very close to the podium - at the 4 th place! I think this is a good result for finishing the season.

BIRNBACHER Andreas ( Germany ): everything came to the end so fast! My today's shooting, of course, was not perfect. In addition, many athletes went very close to each other, so the fight turned out to be very tense.
HURAJT Pavol ( Slovakia ): Today was the tense fight. Everyone were running very close to each other and very fast. What to say, there were 25 athletes on the third shooting range at the same time! It was a good race. I‘d satisfied with the end of the season.
