The winner of the women's mass start in the World Cup Final -2009/10 became Magdalena Neuner. Due to this success the German athlete has not only strengthened its leadership in the overall World Cup, having won the Grand crystal globe, but also became ahead of her teammate Simone Hauswald in the fight for a small World Cup in mass start.

     From the very start the pace to the race was given by Neuner and Hauswald, but on the first shooting Hauswald missed once, in comparison with her national team partner, allowing her friend on the team to run to the second circle alone. Neuner has strengthened her leadership after the second shooting, hitting all five targets and creating an almost 30 seconds Handicap over a group of pursuers, led by Anastasiya Kuzmina (Slovakia).

     After the third shooting the struggle in the race dramatically escalated. After three successful shots Neuner missed twice and went to the distance after two penalty laps with the six seconds gap from Kuzmina, who shot absolutely clean.

     At a distance the German athlete caught up with her rival, and the final shooting they started almost simultaneously. And Neuner, and Kuzmina missed once, but the speed Magdalena’s shooting was much higher, that is why she could go to the final loop with a fairly comfortable gap. While her opponent from Slovakia gave up the second place to Sandrine Bailly (France), who celebrated her victory at the end of her sport career being at the prize stage.

     NEUNER Magdalena (Germany):

     -Every year coming to Khanty-Mansiysk we are ready to unpredictable weather, and despite the wind and cold we still shoot good. I think this is a game. I'm talented and in a great shape, in addition I have been training a lot in summer and winter - this is my secret of success.

     BAILLY Sandrine (France):

      -l really like the new track and I hope that next year I will come in Khanty-Mansiysk to the World Cup to support my team.

     KUZMINA Anastasiya (Slovakia):

     -I haven’t had enough strength to reach the second place. This is the end of the season and I have just tired. I'm satisfied with the race. This is my first Olympic season, which proved very resultative for me.

     SEMERENKO Valj (Ukraina): The race was usual. I ran as I could. I could compete with my rivals, if at the first prone my shooting was better. It was difficult for me to cope with the wind at the shooting range. Even it was hard to orient with the help of the wind flag. I thought that the wind would be the same as on the running, but I was mistaken.

     ROMANOVA Iana (Russia): Generally I am pleased with my today's 8-th place. It was a little bit hard to run and the weather was really frosty, the wind affected the shooting. However, two misses are not a bad result for this race!

     KHVOROSTENKO Oksana (Ukraina): It was hard to run from the first loop. The weather was cold. It was really frosty on the slopes. Generally I liked the track and satisfied with the result.

     BRUNET Marie Laure (France): The track was great, but the wind spoiled everything. I tried to shoot clean and it possible took a long time, but my result was only two misses!

     PIDHRUSHINA Olena (Ukraine): This was my worst race of the season! Maybe I was just tired.
